Celebrate Green with these green St. Patrick's Day tips

• Cut shamrock shapes (or use a shamrock paper punch) from recycled green paper to make cards and decorations
  
  
• Go hunting for shamrocks (clover) in nearby fields. If you find some, bring them home, flatten between books, then glue on cards for next year.
  
  
• Play St. Patrick's Day bingo. Remember to print cards on recycled paper and recycle when finished.
  
  
• What a perfect day to start researching your ancestry whether you're Irish or not.
  
  
• Read an Irish story with your family. Choose one from here or make a trip to your local library.
  
  
• Make a leprechaun out of fabric scraps. Hide it somewhere in the yard (preferably under a mushroom!), and have children find it.
  
  
• If it's a rainy March 17, watch one of these inspiring Irish family movies together.
  
  
• If you're celebrating by imbibing, drink local--local beers in local establishments or celebrate by attending a local beer making school.
  
  
• Seek out green breweries that embrace sustainable practices. Seek our a nearby contender via an Internet search.
  
  
• If you're buying locally and are offered a choice, buy glass bottles instead of aluminum. If your beer of choice comes from far away, however, metal cans are lighter and therefore cause less of an environmental impact while making their way to you.
