Eco Easter Eggs to DYE for
Conventional Easter egg dyes are typically made from petroleum-based chemicals, so until now, the safest and “greenest” way to dye eggs was with real food. And while food dyeing is great fun (our book, Celebrate Green! has recipes and how-to’s) some parents may seek an easier option.
Enter: Eco-Eggs Easter Egg Coloring Kit from Eco-Kids. The perfect fusion of “ease” and “all natural.”
But our (junior) testers just called them plain FUN.
Eco-Kids’ dyes are made with REAL foods (such as sweet potato and blueberries) and come with two soy crayons for decorating. Packaging is recycled and 100% recyclable/upcyclable/compostable.
Eco-Eggs Easter Egg Coloring Kit is available at Eco-KidsUSA.com. $10.
Hint: Place rubber bands of different sizes around eggs before immersing in dye to create no-fuss, perfectly formed stripes!

Hey – I love this video and am going to try this with my kids this week. Thanks so much for the suggestion!
We are using the Eco-Kids egg color this year.
The kits are available at http://www.shoptotallykids.com
in case you do not know where to find them.
Happy Easter!
Kelly
